The PERSIMMON consortium gathered at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz, Austria, for its Month 18 General Assembly, a key milestone marking the close of the project’s first major phase and the beginning of the next.

Hosted by consortium partner JKU Linz, the meeting brought together representatives from all 13 partner organisations spanning 6 European countries. Over the course of two days, the consortium reviewed progress across all work packages, assessed the results achieved during the first 18 months of the project, and discussed the priorities and challenges that will shape the next phase of PERSIMMON’s development.

Month 18 represents a significant checkpoint for the project. The first stage of technical and scientific activities is now complete, and the consortium is transitioning into a more advanced phase focused on biomaterials-based system testing, further technology development, and the preparation of real-world demonstrations in sport and clinical settings.

The General Assembly provided the opportunity to look back at what has been accomplished: a strong digital and communication presence established, preliminary testing results shared, key technological components developed and validated, and an active dissemination programme underway across scientific conferences, public events, and training activities throughout Europe and beyond.

At the same time, the meeting was firmly forward-looking. Partners aligned on the work ahead, identified the technical and organisational challenges to address, and reaffirmed their shared commitment to delivering on PERSIMMON’s ambitious goals.
